Every big AI tool, and the Swedish tools built on them, run on models from US companies. A US court can reach a US company's data wherever the servers stand. Egen removes the US company.

The rules
The rules your auditor asks about. And what Egen does about each.
Egen does not make you compliant on its own. It removes the part of the problem that comes from where your data sits and who can reach it. Here is what that means, rule by rule.
Data protection
GDPR makes you answer for every supplier that handles personal data. The CLOUD Act and FISA section 702 let US authorities demand data from US companies, wherever the servers stand.
Egen: We act as your processor under a data processing agreement. The servers and the company that runs them are Swedish, and the open-weight model runs there, so there is no US company to serve a demand on.
Security and AI rules
NIS2 asks the organisations it covers to manage the risk in their suppliers. The EU AI Act asks anyone who uses AI to make sure their staff understand it, and adds duties for high-risk uses such as hiring and credit.
Egen: We answer your supplier assessment in writing: where the data is, who runs the servers, how access is logged. Egen is built for documents and meetings, not for the high-risk uses the Act lists.
Professional secrecy
Lawyers are bound by advokatsekretess (Rättegångsbalken 8:4), auditors by the secrecy in the Auditors Act, and care providers by the Board of Health and Welfare's rules on access to patient data (HSLF-FS 2016:40).
Egen: Client and patient material stays on servers in Sweden, nothing is trained on it, and every access is logged per user, so you can show who saw what.

Every level has named users and an agreed amount of capacity: documents, hours of meeting audio and jobs running at once. The contract says what you get; on Private and Dedicated we set the amounts from a pilot. Prices excluding VAT. Monthly prices assume a 12-month agreement; Egen Start can also run month to month with one month's notice.

Why it costs more than a model API
- A model API sells the raw model, priced per token. It is cheap because it is only one part.
- Someone still has to build the workspace, the file handling, the meeting pipeline, the connectors and the log, and then keep them running.
- Egen is that work, done and running. If you have developers who want only the models, Egen API sells open models per token, on the same servers in Sweden.
Start and Team need no onboarding: we open the workspace and you pay by card. If you want your own single sign-on (SSO), or on Team a connector set up and training for your admins, contact us before you start: that is work on our side, so the onboarding fee applies. With onboarding, or on Private and Dedicated, you can begin with a paid pilot: 30 days, one workflow, up to eight people, 9 900 kr, counted towards onboarding up to the onboarding fee. If you need more than the agreed capacity, we say so and agree a bigger level with you; we never bill for it afterwards.

Good to know before you buy
- On the very hardest reasoning, the newest US cloud models are still ahead. For everyday document work, the gap is small.
- Per person, Egen costs more than an add-on such as Microsoft Copilot. The difference buys control: the model and your files stay on servers in Sweden, and there is an engineer to call.
- Nothing is unlimited. Meeting audio, documents and jobs running at once have limits in the agreement. New workflows, data cleanup and custom connectors are quoted as their own work.
- Meetings are transcribed from a recording after the meeting. Live captions are not in this version.

What people ask before they buy.
What does Egen mean?
Egen is Swedish for "our own". It is what your team says about the AI they use: our own AI, our own servers, our own data. It is also the name of the product.
Is it as good as ChatGPT?
For documents, drafting, summaries and translation, close. On the very hardest reasoning, the newest cloud models are still ahead. We will show you on your own files before you decide.
Where is our data?
In a Swedish data centre, run by a Swedish company under Swedish law. The AI model itself runs there too. Nothing goes to a US provider.
Is our data used to train anything?
No. The model is open weight and runs on the servers we operate for you. There is no vendor on the other end to train on it.
Does the meeting audio leave our systems?
No. You upload the recording after the meeting; transcription runs in the same Swedish data centre, and you get a transcript, notes and action points back.
How fast can we start?
Days. On Start and Team without your own single sign-on, we open the workspace once you have paid by card. With your own single sign-on, or on Private and Dedicated, we set it up with you, often after a 30-day pilot.
What happens if we stop?
You get your files and settings back and we close the account. No lock-in, no exit fee.
Are the prices with or without VAT?
Without. Swedish VAT of 25 per cent is added on the invoice.
Can we use our own single sign-on?
Yes. Tell us before you start, because connecting your own sign-in is work on our side. On Start and Team that is when the onboarding fee applies: 4 900 kr or 9 900 kr. On Team the fee also covers one standard connector set up for you and training for your admins. Without these there is no onboarding fee.
What does the pilot cost?
9 900 kr for 30 days, on one workflow, for up to eight people. It is for Private and Dedicated, and for Start or Team with your own single sign-on. We measure what you use and set the capacity in your agreement from that. The fee counts towards onboarding, up to the onboarding fee.
What does the capacity cover?
Named users, how many documents Egen holds, hours of meeting audio, and how many jobs run at once. The amounts are in your agreement. Nothing is unlimited, because the servers are not.
How are we billed?
The monthly price is billed yearly, or each month if you run Egen Start month to month. Egen Start and Team pay by card, Egen Private and Dedicated by invoice. Onboarding, where it applies, is billed once, at the start.
How long do we commit for?
12 months from the start. The agreement then renews a year at a time unless you cancel at least three months before the end of the year. Egen Start can instead run month to month, with one month's notice.
Can we change level?
Yes. If you need more than the capacity in your agreement, we tell you and agree a bigger level. We never bill for it afterwards.
